Alexander Wang Discusses Menswear, Hair Conditioner

The very most important thing that we learned from this video with Alexander Wang is that he does not use hair conditioner (should you be really curious, he apparently keeps his hair nice and greasy-looking with something called No-Poo). The second most important thing is that he just launched his much-anticipated menswear collection at Barneys. Here's what Wang has to say about what you're already thinking:

When I launched menswear, people were looking at my womenswear and saying, 'Oh, it's so easy for you to do menswear, because your stuff is so androgynous already, wouldn't you just re-cut certain things?' And I was like, well, yes and no.

To clarify, his menswear is actually for his female customers' boyfriends:

I saw it as the guy who's attracted to our girl ... I always loved the idea of the guy going shopping with his girlfriend and just kind of sits around and doesn't do anything. He kind of waits and sits on the couch and is very disinterested in fashion. But he has a good sense of what he looks good in. They might go to events together and she might be really dressed up but he'll be in jeans and a sweatshirt and a good leather jacket.

So, there you have it. Watch the video for the added bonus of Simon Doonan modeling said clothes.
