The nineties brought us Donna Karan’s iconic “cold shoulder” dress, and given the cyclical nature of fashion, the look is back. BCBG Max Azria added deep slits to a color-blocked jumpsuit, Nicholas K cut circles into the shoulders of a boho-inspired midi dress, and Richard Chai added a sexy twist to a floral-printed button-down. And unlike so many other trends, there’s no need to diet for this look, because as Karan says, you never gain weight in your shoulders.
