Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Exhibit Set a New Palace Record
Hopefully you were one of the record-breaking 600,000-plus people to see Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen wedding dress while it was on display at Buckingham Palace. Because as the palace tallies final stats on the exhibition, which closed yesterday, the dress is being packed up for storage. People reports:
According to a palace source, Kate is "keen to ensure that the dress survives undamaged for as long as possible, and so this inevitably means limiting the number of times that it is transported or displayed."
And after all America has done for Kate! Anyway the number of people who did get to see the dress was "easily a record" for the palace, a spokeswoman says. Last year's exhibition drew 413,000 visitors; the best-trafficked exhibit before Kate's dress was in 1994, when 420,000 visitors came by. Eh, they should probably just run the dress every year until her daughter gets married.
