London Fashion Week to Include International Designer Showcase

By

This month's London Fashion Week will host its first International Fashion Showcase. As part of a yearlong cultural program pegged to the 2012 Olympics, the event will see 80 emerging designers from Australia to Uzbekistan showcase their designs, either at their country's embassy or at one of London's "cultural institutions." Judged by the British Fashion Council, the country that best presents its young designers' work wins a prize — which we're guessing is either a nice floral-patterned china tea set or a tin of shortbread.
