In an "outspoken condemnation of the practice," British designer Nicole Farhi confirms to the Telegraph that many PR firms now pay celebrities to attend their clients' shows because of the press coverage they'll bring. "It is so unprofessional. I have never paid a celebrity and I will never do it. It's stupid ... [other designers] will hate me for [saying so]. I don't give a ---- because I think it is abominable."
