Tom Ford's fall 2012 collection can now be seen by us hoi polloi thanks to a video leaked on YouTube last night. It's a trippy montage of airbrushed images set to techno music, like something you might have made when you first learned PowerPoint in computer science class, but the clothes look quite sharp. As critics mentioned, this collection was a vast improvement over the disastrous puffy sleeves, peasant blouses, and purple-feathered bodices of last season (when his show was widely panned). Ford himself said that he wanted to show more cohesive, tightly edited looks this season, and his efforts are evident in the consistency of angular shoulders, snug ruched dresses, and sexy thigh-high leather boots. Other pieces of note: a gold belly shield, not unlike what Karl Lagerfeld showed at Fendi last month, as well as the white cape dress that Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Oscars.
