Michelle Obama Got a Head Start on Mother’s Day

WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 10: U.S. first lady Michelle Obama participates in honoring the upcoming Military Spouse Appreciation Day and in support of military families celebrating Mother's Day during an event in the State Dining Room at the White House May 10, 2012 in Washington, DC. Obama and Dr. Jill Biden began by hosting a Joining Forces Mother's Day event for three generations of military families and military mothers, as well as participating in a Joining Forces service to provide care packages to military mothers who have loved ones serving abroad. Michelle Obama was busy with activities for her Joining Forces initiative in Washington, D.C., yesterday. First, she hosted a Mother's Day event for military families at the White House in a bright yellow dress by Rachel Roy. Later in the day, she changed into purple pants and a red striped cardigan to assemble Mother's Day packages to send to the mothers and wives of deployed U.S. troops. See both outfits in our updated Michelle Obama Look Book.
