Anthony Davis Takes Unibrow Pride to New Levels

Respect it.

In our teen years, we forced our younger brother to sit still while we tenderly tweezed a pathway between the thickets on his forehead. Fortunately for both of us, his eyebrow hedges were just a relatively brief adolescent phase, but some folks don't get off so easily: Basketball player Anthony Davis, who's slated to be the number one pick in the NBA draft tonight, appears to be looking at a lifelong commitment of dealing with two mustaches above his eyes. So, like anyone with true personal style, he's embracing what nature gave him and making it his own.

Davis not only takes pride in his unibrow, Frida Kahlo-style, but he intends to make money off it. He trademarked several brow-related catchphrases earlier this month, including "Raise the Brow" and "Fear the Brow," and explained to CNBC:

"I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it... Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique."

Davis said that people frequently tell him to cut it, but Davis said he won’t because “everyone’s talking about it.”

In fact, he wouldn't even get rid of his brows if he were paid to:

Asked if a razor company could pay him to shave off his unibrow, Davis says that’s not going to happen.

Said Davis: “I might have a commercial where I’m acting like I’m shaving it and then I’ll throw the razor down.”

That's right, guys. THROW IT DOWN. (Which is a good thing, really, because who in good conscience can endorse taking a razor to one's eyebrows? We all knew at least one person in middle school who had a bad experience with that, right?)
