The 29-year-old heiress to her family's fashion house wed 27-year-old racing driver Eugenio Amos at the Santa Maria Annunciata church in Brunello, Italy, on Saturday. According to WWD, Giambattista Valli created Margherita's gown (from Missoni silk and organza), which she topped off with a tiara and a veil. She changed into a blush pink version for the reception. Guests included the entire Missoni clan, along with Franca Sozzani, Carine Roitfeld, Mario Testino, and Suzy Menkes — who described the scene as straight out of a Fellini film:
With a gypsy band strumming, traveling players dangling as acrobats from ethereal lengths of fabric and striped awnings protecting groaning food tables from the light rain, the bucolic party in the Varese countryside looked like a chic remake of Frederico Fellini's "La Strada."
Said food tables and the cushions surrounding them were covered in Missoni's signature patterns (you knew those zigzags would be involved somehow!). But apparently the tables weren't "groaning" with quite enough food, as Derek Blasberg tweeted: "Breakfast at Milan airport: Pepperoni pizza, Twix bar, Coca Cola. Or is it a night cap if I came here straight from 's wedding?"
