It's fitting that Lady Gaga, Hedi Slimane's partner-in-arms against Cathy Horyn this fashion month, got the honor of being the first person to wear his spring 2013 Saint Laurent collection off the runway, complete with a wide-brimmed fedora. (The hat didn't quite fit over her wig, so she perched it neatly atop a small hillock of hair in the back of her head, resulting in a minor incident outside of her hotel — see photo, below.)
Update: YSL has confirmed to us that Gaga's shirt, jacket and skirt are Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, but the hat is merely a lookalike.
Even more intriguing: Gaga wore this outfit to visit Wikileaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, where he's been holed up since June to avoid extradition and rape charges in Sweden. What might these two have shared during their tête-à-tête, besides tea and cake from singer M.I.A.? They could surely write some terrific open letters, or at least a good dirty rhyme or two.
