There was lots to see at Hedi Slimane's debut Saint Laurent show today, both on and off the runway. Pierre Bergé, who frequently denounced the work of Slimane's predecessors Stefano Pilati and Tom Ford, sat beaming next to French "first lady" Valérie Trierweiler in the front row. On her left, seating assignments proceeded thus: Anna Wintour, Jessica Chastain, Grace Coddington, and Diane von Furstenberg. Elsewhere, Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault rubbed bottoms with Kate Moss and Jamie Hince; Azzedine Alaïa posed for pictures with Carla Sozzani, and other fashion luminaries cheek-kissed, exchanged frosty glances, and otherwise shared oxygen.
