Male Gaze: Adrien Brody’s Stone-Cold Stare

UT0121727

He’s one of Gillette’s current “Masters of Style,” and his new film, Back in 1942 — where he plays an American reporter in China during World War II — comes out tomorrow. But he always looks so serious. That’s part of Adrien Brody’s allure. We have to mention his long nose and limbs, of course, but it’s his pensive look that keeps us so fascinated. The way he squints his eyes and furrows his brows: Is he shy or just smug? Either way, we’ll keep this guessing game going. It’s just an excuse to keep on staring at him, anyway, even if he did look better during his 2002 days.
