Fred Perry, the British heritage brand that’s never met a collaboration it didn’t like, is doing a capsule collection with No Doubt early next year. According to WWD, the designs were inspired by the band’s “ska and reggae roots” as well as Fred Perry’s “relationship with subculture.” Yes, we thought, a reprisal of Gwen Stefani’s best nineties outfits! (These yellow vinyl pants with zipper detailing and lots of belly shirts sprang to mind.)

But instead, it sounds like a bunch of boring collared shirts and sweaters. WWD reports that the collection will entail “a slim-fit shirt … [with] signature tipping detail on the sleeves and collar in a reggae-inspired dark gold, red and green” as well as a “punk-inspired tartan-check V-neck sweater.” Come on, guys, there’s got to be at least one handkerchief top in there somewhere.
