Predicting Michelle Obama’s Next J.Crew Purchases

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 13: First lady Michelle Obama speaks during an interactive student workshop with the cast and crew of the film Beasts of the Southern Wild at the State Dining Room of the White House February 13, 2013 in Washington, DC. Asked what the First Lady would wear for fall, J.Crew's head of women's design, Tom Mora, told Elle, "I'd bet on the wool coat embroidered with crystals ... It's practical but stately, and it will photograph beautifully on television. I also think she could get a lot of use out of the ivory wool slacks and sweater, because they're simple and chic, and she's a mom, so she needs clothes that are easy to run around in." But where were all of the sashes she can fashion into belts and put into early retirement?
