You’ll Never Guess What This Freshman Republican Blamed on Roe v. Wade

Delivering a commencement address at Bismarck’s University of Mary earlier this month, freshman Republican Representative Kevin Cramer told students we shouldn’t be surprised to see children die from gun violence in their schools, considering abortion is legal.

Here’s the windup, as reported by the Huffington Post:

Just in the last several days, a Bismarck news anchor mistakenly uttered vulgarity on live television. He’s been heralded by celebrities from New York to California as some sort of pop icon. [Ed. note: Guilty as charged.] His bosses have been called goons because they fired him.

We learned this week that the Pentagon is vetting its guide on religious tolerance with a group that compared Christian evangelism to rape, and advocated that military personnel and colluding chaplains who proselytize should be court-marshalled.

Forty years ago, the United States Supreme Court sanctioned abortion on demand. And we wonder why our culture sees school shootings so often.

The remarks become slightly less shocking when one considers they took place in North Dakota, which currently has a fetal heartbeat abortion ban on its books that would ban abortions as early as six weeks (before some women even knew they’re pregnant and in violation of Roe v. Wade). And when one considers the speaker. Cramer was previously criticized during debates over the Native American protections added this year to the Violence Against Women Act. Cramer reportedly said he wanted to “ring the Tribal council’s neck and slam them against the wall” for demanding jurisdiction over men who beat reservation women. Irony lost on no one.
