Summer 2013 has yet to start (at least officially), but designers are already looking ahead to resort 2014. With its usual parade of vivid colors, bold embellishment, and tropical-inspired fare, the season is a feast for the eyes and deserves to be zoomed in on in close detail. Today's latest shows come from Tory Burch and Moschino Cheap & Chic. Over at Tory Burch, the collection was filled with blooms ranging from exuberant orange and pink flowers to quieter, more delicate blue ones. Hat prints — on everything from sweaters to skirts to bags — added to the whimsy.
At Moschino Cheap & Chic, the collection took a grunge turn, epecially with a mix of heavy black boots and daisy-print dresses toward the end. Blend that in with the tie-dye pieces, the floral crowns, and the cross-body bags, and it seemed to be what a rich, young Italian girl would wear to her first music festival. A lone lace and tweed shift stood out, perfectly combining both materials.
