LAST SLIDE

Street Style: Mud, Music, and Boots at the Governors Ball

New York's three-day festival on Randalls Island was supposed to be awash with good music, plenty of beer, and savory hand-held bites doled out at the food trucks on site. Instead, Governors Ball turned into a three-day mud fest overnight, thanks to Friday's "torrential rainstorm" that transformed the grounds into a swamp. Festivalgoers didn't let the mud (and overwhelming stench of horse poop) dampen their moods. Taking cues from Glastonbury, they pulled out hardcore wellies and boots of every kind — from Hunters, Dr. Martens, and last-minute street finds — or went completely barefoot. With those, they added acid-washed jean shorts, rings by Alexander McQueen, fanny packs, flower crowns, and crop tops, of course. Click through the slides for some of the most creative looks from the weekend, as photographed by Bek Andersen. Remember: They needed to stay cool up top to beat the heat and well-guarded below (to slosh, jump, and dance to Kanye West).
