At the MTV Video Music Awards last night in Brooklyn, the singer pulled from deep within her bag of red-carpet tricks and turned out her best retro-glam look, wearing a tight, sparkling gown with a plunging neckline from Hervé Léger by Max Azria. She pinned up her usually straight blonde mane into a head of loose curls, painted her lips and nails crimson, and posed fiercely to her heart’s content. While the upper portion of the dress was somewhat salacious for Swift, it was one of the more tasteful dresses of the evening. With her pinned-up head of curly ringlets, she even looked like a grown-up version of Shirley Temple (turned country pop singer).
