Checking In With Club Monaco

At Club Monaco, fashion is more than the clothes you wear. It’s a lifestyle, a cultural aspiration that’s reflected in the brand’s new, innovative retail initiatives: its first-ever global flagship store, a women’s shop on Bleecker Street featuring the new Collection, and a new women’s store in Soho – all opening this fall.
 
Situated at 160 Fifth Avenue, Club Monaco’s new global flagship brings to life its popular “Culture Club” blog by creating a unique, multidimensional in-store experience. Standing at the intersection of fashion and culture, the new flagship bridges the worlds of clothing, art and literature by housing two iconic institutions: the New York bookseller The Strand and ultra-hip, Williamsburg-by-way-of-Australia coffee shop Toby Estates (thus marking its first café in Manhattan). Alongside Club Monaco’s must-have fashions, art, literature, and culture interact in brilliant and inspiring ways.
 
To cement its global reach, the store features art and objects sourced from such influential cities as Antwerp, London, Paris, L.A., and New York. These additions establish the store as a place of discovery, where corners of the shop, like the women’s shoe salon features hand-painted wallpaper by a London workshop. Also fueling this creative momentum is an elevated fall campaign shot by London-based photographer David Sims and top models Suvi Koponen and Mathias Bergh, who make their Club Monaco debut.
 
The aspirational lifestyle also makes its way to the clothing. “This season, I drew inspiration from the changing tones of late autumn mixed with the edginess of modern photography. Dark, but still pretty, futuristic but historical.” said Caroline Belhumeur, lead women’s designer for Club Monaco.  Juxtaposing this chic, urban sensibility is a romantic air of white and ethereal patterns that one could happily get lost in this fall.
 
This season’s whimsical palettes, as well as Club Monaco’s modern apparel will get the luxury treatment come September with its first-ever women’s shop featuring Collection at 390 Bleecker Street. The new Collection offers the brand’s signature, streamlined point of view but rendered in the finest materials: cashmere, calf hair, Italian leather and shearling that play up cropped leather jackets, minimalist sheath dresses and rich velvet petticoats. It’s an elevated vision of Club Monaco classics.  Also opening this season is our new women’s store in Soho at 520 Broadway. Exclusive products and our unique Makers & Muse collaborations live alongside vintage mirror tile walls, custom parquet flooring, and hand blown pendants.
