Lady Gaga has confirmed our previous suspicions that the brown, slightly greasy hair she’s worn on multiple occasions is, in fact, her own. As in, it grew from her scalp and is attached to her head. So frequently does she cover it up with wigs, nets, hats, and sea creatures that we couldn’t even be sure what it looked like until this weekend, when she verified its authenticity onstage in London. Reports the BBC:

[Gaga] told fans she had survived “some really tough times” and explained she had used “wigs and make-up” to “cover up the pain”.

“When I didn’t feel strong enough to be me, I created someone else. And it worked … So here I am, the human underneath the wigs,” she said, removing her headpiece and bobby pins to reveal a tousled brunette bob. “This is my real hair.”

Fine, Beyoncé did the hair reveal first, but Gaga did it better. At least we’re not left wondering what’s what.
