Justin Theroux Has Syphilis Art

Remember in When Harry Met Sally, when Carrie Fisher won’t let her boyfriend move his coffee table made out of a wagon wheel into their new, shared apartment? GQ’s Amy Wallace asked Justin Theroux, who is engaged to Jennifer Aniston, what his wagon-wheel table is. That is, which object won’t make it out of the bachelor pad into their shared home (where he is apparently always hiding from Aniston behind drapes).

“My wagon-wheel table is my syphilis throats,” he told her. “I have these beautiful wax-museum pieces — handmade, from the 1800s — from a museum of curiosities. They’re just these open mouths, with tongues, and in the throats are different stages, labeled, of syphilis and gonorrhea and whatever. Those definitely found a great place in my office in L.A. They weren’t going to be above the fireplace anytime soon.”

Another maybe-endearing quirk: Theroux refers to the paparazzi as “photojournalists.”
