Another Marijuana Victory: Potheads Are Skinnier

Marijuana advocates have another reason to celebrate herb. Research from the American Journal of Medicine shows that active pot smokers have a lower BMI, lower insulin levels, lower insulin resistance, and smaller waistlines than former hippies and squares. While the study does not give a conclusive reason why potheads maintain a svelte physique, the paper suggests cannabinoids positively affect metabolic processes. The follow-up study will research the health benefits of administering marijuana and then ingesting a bag of Doritos, a pound of gummy worms, a few Hot Pockets, and four Taco Bell Cheesy Gordita Crunch tacos.
