For anyone who has spent even a millisecond dreaming of entering the hallowed halls of Christian Dior’s Paris atelier for a haute couture fitting, Rizzoli’s upcoming book Dior Glamour will more than fulfill that fantasy. The decadent tome offers a seductive, behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous creations from the house’s “Divine Decade,” 1952 to 1962, captured by photographer Mark Shaw, who worked for Life magazine during the time. The book is stuffed with over 140 rich black-and-white and color photographs — including many that have never been published before — of models, socialites, and actresses wearing everything from romantic ball gowns to full-skirted day ensembles to wedding dresses at dress rehearsals, presentations, salon shoots, editorial-type shoots, and more. Click through the slideshow to take a quick dip into the decadent annals of couture history. For those eager for more, the book will hit shelves at the end of month.
