Each year, we get a few fleeting weeks of the perfect weather - the bare legs with a sweater kind of weather. Not quite ready to pack away my favorite summer comforts, I keep the cutoff shorts and thin cotton tees within arm's reach. Instead of bringing out the heavy duty layers and stowing away the seasonal gear, sandals are simply swapped for my more versatile ankle boots, and my lightweight jackets and sweaters come out of their tucked away boxes. Soon, bare legs will no longer be an option; I'll have to cover them in tights and thick socks, and my lightweight bomber will be replaced with swathes of layers. In the meantime, I'm holding on to the transitional weather as long as possible. Transient as it may be, it's worth relishing.
