Nicholas Kirkwood, Karl Lagerfeld, Erdem Moralioglu and Topshop were among the winners last night at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, held at London’s grand Victoria and Albert Museum. Cat Deeley hosted the event, with appearances from Jodie Kidd, Yasmin Sewell, and Susie Lau — who went missing when it was her turn to go on the stage, but then showed up 20 minutes later, apologizing profusely. Meanwhile, guests were served the world’s strangest canapés: frozen-horseradish and smoked-salmon popsicles (which tasted just like they sound), and beetroot and goat-cheese macaroons.

Kirkwood scooped the award for Footwear and Accessories Designer, and Lagerfeld’s Paris store was named Best New Store/Refit, though sadly he wasn’t in London to collect the award himself (perhaps he was at home, practicing nice things to say about curvy women). It was also a good night for H&M's new sister brand & Other Stories — it won the Womenswear Design Team Award. It hasn't reached the U.S. yet, but given its strong popularity with the European fashion industry, it hopefully will.
