1950s Italy Gets the Wes Anderson Treatment

What could make Prada, mustachioed race car drivers, and spaghetti even more Italian? Taking all of those things and running them through Wes Anderson's retro-sophisticate whimsy-cam. For its latest Prada Classics short film, Castello Cavalcanti, the Italian house commissioned the auteur to transport us to a trippy, neon-colored, high-fashion version of a classic small town in Italy.  The eight-minute short, which is set in 1955 and stars Jason Schwartzman as a frazzled race car driver who crashes into the action (and a statue of Jesus), debuts today on Prada's website.
