Lululemon Founder ‘Really Sad’ About That Pants Comment

Lululemon founder Chip Wilson has apologized for that horrendously awkward statement he made last week about how his brand’s pants “don’t work for certain women’s bodies,” followed by more babbling about “the rubbing through the thighs.” In a video posted to Lululemon’s YouTube page today, he said:

I’m sad. I’m really sad for the repercussions of my actions. I’m sad for the people who work here at Lululemon who have really had to face the brunt of my actions. I take responsibility for all that has occurred, and the impact that it’s had on you. I’m sorry to have put you all through this. For all of you that have made Lululemon what it is today, I ask you to stay in a conversation that is above the fray. I ask you to prove that the culture you have built cannot be chipped away.

Ha, chipped away, get it? So anyway, he feels really bad for sticking his foot in his mouth, and would like us to realize it was a mistake and he didn’t mean it. He also looks like he’s about to cry in this video, so let’s give him the benefit of the doubt.
