Yesterday evening in London, the Duchess of Cambridge’s little sister attended the Sugarplum Ball at One Mayfair with her boyfriend-slash-rumored fiancé, Nico Jackson. Pippa attempted to tastefully jump on the ubiquitous sheer trend in a floor-length, see-through black gown with intricate embroidery, which she even paired with a sparkly, sequined jacket. Although her dress’s outermost fabric was netted and sheer, her body parts were fully covered with a flesh-toned fabric beneath it — which almost seemed to defeat the fabric’s entire purpose. (At least, according to Hollywood standards, where hordes of actresses have reinvented the word sheer to mean being as naked as possible on the red carpet.)
