Rumors continue to roll in that major designers are abandoning the Lincoln Center tents this Fashion Week. Now WWD reports that Michael Kors and Diane Von Furstenburg might be leaving the dog-and-pony-show for other, calmer pastures.
Reps from Michael Kors and DVF couldn't be reached for comment, according to WWD, but a rep for IMG told the Cut in an e-mail that the company "won't be making any comments until after the first [of the] year, at which time the entire schedule will be confirmed. We are still confirming as we speak." Though according to WWD, tent stalwarts like Monique Lhuillier and Tory Burch are among those currently confirmed on the schedule.
If the rumors are true, losing Kors and Von Furstenberg (following recent reports that Vera Wang and Carolina Herrera were also considering leaving the tents) could be a big blow for IMG. But given the CFDA's increasing involvement with the "new" Fashion Week, is it really likely that DVF would do anything other than show solidarity?
