Kate Winslet is threatening to sue men’s rights organization Fathers4Justice over a planned ad campaign that accuses the actress of shutting her children’s fathers out of their lives, the Daily Mail reportsThe attack ad quotes a Vogue article in which Winslet said that her three children, despite each having a different father, “don’t go from pillar to post … flown here and there with nannies.” “None of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads,” she said, “My children live with me. That is it.”

“Kate, every child deserves their father this Christmas,” the Fathers4Justice ad replies.

Winslet's lawyers say the ad is misleading and defamatory, and ex-husband Sam Mendes, the aggrieved father in this equation, agrees. He told the group: “Whilst I fully support fathers’ rights, I can happily state this has never been a concern for me or my son.” (It makes you wonder what percentage of father’s rights activists are in fact ex-wife-control enthusiasts.) Winslet had only given the Vogue quote in response to other accusations, namely that her children were “the victims of her divorces.” This has been your daily reminder that moms cannot, strictly speaking, win.
