WSJ Columnist Compares Company to Female Child — Disparagingly

One doesn’t often feel compelled to rise to the defense of Time Warner. But then, it’s not every day (after fifth grade) that you hear “girl” used as an insult. Today, Wall Street Journal columnist Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. wrote that the nation’s second biggest cable operator has the negotiation skills of a female child (h/t Lizzie O’Leary). (Not to be confused with the female dollar.) Jenkins, Jr. wrote,“Its heft and strategic position didn't save it from retreating like a frightened little girl in its showdown with CBS.” If only Time Inc. and Warner Communications had made a big boy cable company! (But at least it’s not a gay cable company.)
