Get the Look: Lupita Nyong'o's Indigo Eye Shadow

The Cut doesn't do "get the look" posts that often but this indigo blue eye look on Lupita Nyong'o at tonight's Screen Actors Guild Awards had us immediately wondering,  "What is that color?" and Can we wear that look out tonight? Twitter was abuzz with questions over whether it was a neon or a turquoise eye but the shade in question is actually a blend of blue and purple tones, in a gradated look created by celebrity makeup artist, Nick Barose, who selected cool tones that complemented Nyongo's teal Gucci dress and her Fred Leighton antique gold and citrine earrings.

Barose used Chanel LES 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Fascination (a quartet of blue tones) along the inner corners of Nyongo's eyes along with Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Amethyst(a warm purple) towards the outer corners and lower lash line (see the detail in zoom.) Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Liner in Violine, a deeper royal purple eyeliner, was used closer to the lash line and Chanel Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Pêche Cuivré used as a highlighter. Surely, a beauty contract must be in this girl's future. And maybe unlike fetch, blue shadow can happen
