Watch Marc by Marc’s New Designers Explain Its New Direction

Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley, the new design duo charged with resetting Marc by Marc Jacobs, showed their first collection on Tuesday evening. And it was well-received: The Cut's Robin Givhan called it an "imaginative restart." Now 13 years old, the brand is entering its moody-adolescent year with a revamped vibe and way more attitude — so they've announced that the name Marc by Marc Jacobs will be changed to MBMJ. In the video below, Hillier and Bartley explain how they designed the collection, created the set, and selected the cinematic music to usher in the new era of MBMJ.
