Who better to inspire a collection of sportswear than Nan Kempner and her famous aesthetic of “artificially relaxed” American chic? And who better than to mine said aesthetic for career opportunities than her grandchildren, Meggie and Chris? In an act of forgivable fashion nepotism, the Kempner grandkids have decided to launch a line dedicated to their estimable grandmother, simply called the “Kempner Collection,” reports WWD.
The collection, which will eventually include accessories and a fragrance, calls upon Nan’s more casual mode with a line of contemporary “printed wool miniskirts, tank dresses, a black-and-white two-tone goat fur coat, slim-fitting pants and double-breasted blazers,” designed, in theory, to mix with the kind of actual high-end designer pieces Nan would have worn.
