See: T Magazine’s Love Letter to Phoebe Philo

Photo: T

Phoebe Philo covers the latest issue of T magazine — in a story that confirms what we already know: Everyone loves Phoebe Philo so much. The (rightfully swoony) article doesn't reveal much new information about Céline's creative director, but reinforces the commonly held belief that her idea of power-dressing synthesizes, in the words of writer Whitney Vargas, “how women want to dress with how they actually live their lives.” She’s a woman who puts her role as a mother first — famously refusing to relocate to Paris from London after she landed the Céline job — because, after all, her  “intentionally mousy hair and no makeup are the mark of a woman who relies on more than looks to get her way.”

Philo is notoriously press-shy, and didn't talk to Vargas for the story — she has granted few interviews since she spoke to the Gentlewoman in 2010 — but did agree to sit for a photo shoot in Céline, along with other Céline-approved women like Liya Kebede and Camilla Nickerson, looking completely disheveled and cool. But interview or not, the photos are beautiful — and any excuse to wax poetic about the greatness of Phoebe Philo is always welcome. Check out the full portfolio of images here.
