Double ’Do or Don’t of the Day: Valentino’s Many Segments and McQueen’s Swirly Braids

By

Weird hair on runways is a given, but even the most jaded eyes would have done a double take over yesterday's hairdos at Valentino and Alexander McQueen. Guido Palau riffed on the trendy segmented ponytail and made it long, stiff, and caterpillar-like at Valentino. Palau was also responsible for the hair at McQueen, which was part of a look that makeup artist Pat McGrath described to Vogue as "extreme." Some commenters on Allure's Instagram noted that the braids at McQueen looked like those that women get before they have a weave put in. They also look vaguely Game of Thrones-y. Runway to reality? Maybe not.
