To celebrate the end of a particularly brutal winter, the Cut sent photographers to fashion cities around the world to capture the first taste of spring street style — including everything from jean jackets and overalls to flip-flops with socks. In London, Georgia Devey Smith shot students and stylists in plaid overcoats and chunky shoes, while in Sydney, Melanie Galea snapped rainy weather jorts and more than one exposed midriff. In Tokyo, the streets were awash with bold patterns and red accents, shot by Gui Martinez, while back in New York, Nina Westervelt captured a range of colorful maxi skirts and chic metallic slides. Click through the slideshow for a first look at this spring’s sidewalk dressing trends around the globe.
