Wise and talented hair hero Lorde has a mind of multitudes. It is not of the past or the present or the future, but rather incorporates all aspects of time simultaneously. For example, here is her multi-temporal answer to a question on being a role model, in an interview with Elle:
Being a role model is crazy because I’m probably going to screw up at some point. Probably soon. And people are going to be like, "You’re not a good role model." But I figure, I’m 17 and I’m very much imperfect. I dunno. I’m just figuring this out as well and I think people are aware of that.
More reflections on time, as it relates to her person:
A lot of thoughts I have on age are about the physical ticking down. I think a lot about mortality and I just get way too in my head about it. Since I started making music, a lot was made of how old I was and it made me think about, "What happens when I’m 25? Will people still like what I'm doing? Is it still important if I’m not this hyper-youthful being?" It’s stupid. I know I’m being silly. But I can’t help it. It’s just one of those things. I’ll get over it.
