MAC Celebrates Mary Katrantzou at Indochine

By

Last night at Indochine, MAC hosted a dinner for designer Mary Katrantzou to celebrate her fifth year of business and the launch of her e-commerce site — a great victory for  normcore-haters everywhere. The designer's vibrant, digitally printed, and embellished dresses were well represented among the guests, including social butterfly Giovanna Battaglia, editor Stefano Tonchi, Leandra Medine, Michelle Harper, and the eternally youthful Jenny Shimizu.

"Mary K" (as her friends called her) was leaving early this morning to return to her native London, so "no clubbing," as she put it, but shared a glass of wine and lots of laughs over an ever-flowing meal of dumplings, spring rolls, and eventually, the most delicious tiny marshmallows. Hotly discussed topics at my table included Vogue's Kimye cover, the lack of risk-taking in dressing, and of course, Instagram. In short, it was a perfect fashion dinner. See the slideshow ahead for some of the guests and their outfits.
