Report: Patrick Robinson Out at Armani Exchange [UPDATED]

Can Patrick Robinson catch a break? After a high-profile firing from the Gap, the designer found his footing at Armani Exchange last year. Today, “Page Six” has a report that Robinson was quietly dismissed from his post as creative director a few weeks ago. Though some of their sources chalked this up to poor sales, others said that he was under fire for designing a bracelet that looked eerily similar to a David Yurman design, causing Yurman’s camp to send the brand a cease-and-desist letter. (A rep for Yurman denies this claim.) The Armani Group responded to our request for comment with the following statement: “Giorgio Armani S.p.A. acquired full ownership of Armani Exchange as of May 15, 2014.  As a result, there were changes within the executive leadership team. Patrick Robinson’s exit as Creative Director of Armani Exchange was amicable, and Armani Exchange values Patrick’s contribution to the brand during his tenure.”
