Belstaff Spotlights the ‘Women of New York’

“Where the thinking happens and the action-making takes place.” That’s how artist Josephine Meckseper describes her studio. In the video above, part of Belstaff and BlackBook’s “Women of New York” series, she talks about the artistic process behind her painting and installation work. (Considering that her work incorporates ready-mades, it involves a lot of flipping through catalogs, apparently. “I’ve definitely ordered everything in this catalogue,” she says, adding, in regard to a page of colorful headless mannequins, “That’s a bit scary.”) The series also features mini-films on socialite Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Guest of a Guest founder Rachelle Hruska MacPherson, and Julia Chaplin, the author of Gypset Style.
