Paris Street Style: Layered Scarves and Cheeky Shirts

The European menswear shows came to an end this Sunday, but not before editors, designers, and other showgoers had a last chance to hit the streets of Paris in their summer best — until September, at least. Over the weekend, Parisian sidewalks burst with colorful pastels, including everything from pale-blue gingham to a double-breasted lavender blazer and an ever-seasonal Christopher Kane tulip-themed bag. A particularly innovative showgoer, perhaps inspired by the World Cup, appeared to swap out tights for purple-and-blue leg paint, though others stayed more neutral: Carine Roitfeld dressed, unsurprisingly, in soft greens and browns, including a snakeskin jacket, and Karl Lagerfeld accessorized with a grayscale string of beads. Meanwhile, some ventured into cheekier territory, including a “Live Fast Die Young” cigarette-themed clutch, a shirt reading “Duty Free,” and another occurrence of the now practically ubiquitous Alexander Wang “Parental Advisory” shirt.
