“Charles James: Beyond Fashion,” the Met’s recently closed tribute to the designer, didn’t just result in rave reviews and a planned revival of the house: It also attracted tons of visitors. The Times reports that 505,307 people attended the show, making it the most popular fashion exhibit after “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,” “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy,” and “Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years.” If you missed it, there’s always the accompanying book, which, James’s longtime right-hand man Homer Layne informs the paper, weighs in at a hefty five pounds.
