Lady Gaga isn’t just Harper’s Bazaar’s September cover girl — she’ll also be headlining the magazine’s New York Fashion Week party at the Plaza Hotel. Based on a WWD report, it sounds like things went right down to the wire: The magazine has been “hoping to secure [her] for months. Employees could finally breathe a sigh of relief when the performer confirmed last week.” Also creating complications: rumors that the Sultan of Brunei — whose Dorchester Collection hotels are being boycotted by the fashion pack over his treatment of gay citizens — might be buying the hotel.
