At what has already been a twerk-filled Fashion Week and following the news that big butts are now a Vogue-approved trend, we had to ask Orange Is the New Black star Dascha Polanco what she thought about this seemingly new gluteal development when we ran into her and co-star Taryn Manning at yesterday's Jeremy Scott after-party at Space Ibiza New York. And she seemed a bit skeptical, to say the least: "Everyone is trying to twerk and it’s called shaking your ass and it’s been around for a long time," she told the Cut. "Everyone has been shaking their ass; I have since I was 5."
That's not to say she's not glad to see the spread of body-acceptance. "I have an ass. I have had it all my life, and at one point I was embarrassed, so I would wear baggy pants and a long shirt," she continued. "As you get older you’re like, 'You know what, it’s not that bad.' I fill my jeans up, and it is like some are born with busts, some are born with butts, but whatever makes you feel confident and like loving yourself more, be proud. I’m all for it. But butts is not a trend. Titties and ass will always be in."
