Take a Look Back at Iconic Editor Diana Vreeland’s Style

By

Legendary fashion editor Diana Vreeland's grandson Alexander Vreeland is launching a series of fragrances in her name this week. The five scents, named Extravagance Russe, Absolutely Vital, Perfectly Marvelous, Outrageously Vibrant, and Simply Divine, were designed to capture her distinctive style and unconventional beauty. Best known for her years as the editor-in-chief of Vogue, Vreeland was a ballet dancer before penning a column for Harper's Bazaar.

While Vreeland may have discovered and promoted the talents of icons like Lauren Bacall and Twiggy, she was also a distinctive figure. Known for her immaculate bob that curled at the sides, she was often seen in voluminous silhouettes and a string of bold pearls, a cigarette frequently capping off her look. In honor of these new perfumes, we took a look back at Vreeland's singular style. Click through our slideshow to see her life in fashion.
