Lena Dunham, Naomi Watts, and Ja Rule Partied on Fashion Week’s First Night

By

Last night was the first evening of Fashion Week, so everyone still looked remarkably well rested and ready to have a good time. Lena Dunham went the uptown route, wearing a Michael Kors suit to celebrate Betty Halbreich's new memoir, I'll Drink to That at Bergdorf Goodman. She was joined by Linda Fargo, looking polished in all black. Also uptown was Anna Wintour and the rest of the Vogue team at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they fêted the release of the Costume Institute book.

But no one parties quite like downtown does. Altuzarra threw a glittery lights-filled event for his Target collaboration, and everyone from Keri Russell to Naomi Watts to Liberty Ross showed up. Refinery29 drew in a crowd of models and Gwen Stefani for their country-club pop-up that features a mini-golf course. And for his installation at MADE Fashion Week, Gareth Pugh drew Sarah Jessica Parker, Tyson Beckford, Adrien Brody, and Anja Rubik, among others. The prize for most random but awesome throwback celeb, however, goes to Ja Rule at the Essential Hommes party: Let's hope he performed "Livin' It Up." Click ahead to see these celebs, plus all of the other shenanigans that went down last night.
