Michael Kors Believes in ‘Optimistic Chic’

More evidence for the case that pretty is the new cool: Michael Kors’s spring collection, which showed today. Kors drew inspiration from the ‘50s and explains that he wanted to view the world “optimistically” — since the decade was, in his mind, one of the last times life wasn’t daunting. That translated into belted swing skirts, plenty of flowers, and easy flat sandals that bring to mind long, lazy summer days. It’s all smiles and no sad faces here. Click ahead to hear more about the collection and how Kors takes that nostalgic romance and updates it for the present.
