“I always said, ‘Why can’t I find great stuff?’" says Melissa McCarthy, who studied at  FIT and often designs her own red-carpet outfits. Now, according to WWD, the actress has decided to fulfill her fashion ambitions on a grander scale with an as-yet-unnamed line catering to a wide range of sizes. ("It’s a strange thing to stop at a certain size," she says. "Women don’t, so why should clothes?”)

Backed by Sunrise Brands — which also owns Seven7 Jeans, American Rag, and Superdry — the collection will include clothing, accessories, and beauty products. She'll begin with casual, affordable clothes for fall 2015 and release a higher-end line including accessories and cosmetics for fall of 2016. As for a retail partner, that is still TBD, but expect the line to be in department stores and on an e-commerce site McCarthy is creating.
