Is the best way to get over somebody to get under somebody else, or not? Science leans toward the not. Most of us have rebound sex, suggests one recent study of 170 recently broken-hearted people; within a month after a breakup, 58 percent of them had slept with someone else. But the researchers found no difference in the level of anger, distress, and self-esteem of those who’d hooked up with someone new compared to those who hadn’t. Nothing wrong with rebound sex, in other words — just don’t expect it to heal your broken heart.
